Inner Healing
###Video###
What Inner Healing IS:
Every time we encounter God’s love, healing takes place. During our prayer sessions, we invite you to engage with the Lord to encounter His healing love. His desire is to minister to the places in your heart where you have distress. We will follow wherever the Holy Spirit leads you, because He reveals what He wants to heal. Our role is to provide you with the right questions to ask. “Ask, and you shall receive; seek, and you shall find; knock, and the door shall be opened to you.” (Luke 11:9)
Our Lady of Medjugorje constantly calls us to pray with the heart. At her direction, we approach God with total honesty. A daughter/son meeting with the Father who loves them. We invite you to come as you are, and not to worry about trying to clean yourself up beforehand. We have found that there is significant breakthrough from prayers of forgiveness. Standing in your Baptismal authority you will engage your will, choosing to forgive those who have hurt you, and renouncing the strongholds the enemy has in your life.
“Now the Lord is Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.” (2 Cor 3:17) We will pray for an indwelling of the Holy Spirit. This intimacy with God is where healing takes place.
Inner Healing is NOT:
Counseling or spiritual advising:
Your prayer ministers come alongside you to seek the heart of God, not to give counsel or spiritual direction. They will guide you in a conversation with the Lord, sometimes sharing what they receive. We want you to have an intimate encounter with the love of God, which is the only thing that can heal.
Medical counsel or input:
We are not medically trained professionals. We advise that you remain on any medications until your medical professional advises you otherwise. God can heal instantly or over time, but it is prudent to let medical professionals guide you. It is also a powerful testimony to the medical profession to witness miraculous healings and to have medical evidence of God’s power.
A one-time solution or answer:
Inner healing is a lifestyle not a destination. We seek to accompany you in the place that you are on the journey. The Lord transforms us from glory to glory as we seek His face (2 Cor 3:18). We desire progress and not perfection as we allow the love of Jesus to heal us more each day.
Spirituality:
Shadow on the Water lives in full communion with the Roman Catholic Church, and is guided by the teaching and formation of Our Lady. Our team includes her in every aspect of our ministry, prayer, and personal lives, and attributes all fruits to her intercession. She is the true captain of our team! Our Lady is a gentle Mother who constantly calls us to conversion, to place Jesus on the throne of our hearts. As a mother, she knows and honors our hearts, stories, and weaknesses, and has been anointed by God to “bear us into holiness” (See below, March 25, 1990). She lives the Gospel completely, trusting God to do for her everything she cannot do for herself. The Shadow on the Water team emulates her example, walking in gentleness and encouragement, and fully trusting in the complete power of God to do for us everything we cannot do for ourselves.
Our Lady also teaches us the importance of prayer in her messages.
“Little children, I am your mother, I love you and I desire that each of you be saved and thus be with me in Heaven. That is why, little children, pray, pray, pray until your life becomes prayer.”
(Message of Our Lady of Medjugorje, August 25, 1998)
We encourage you to pray generously, responding to God’s grace in your life, and to cooperate with what He accomplishes in our prayer session.
Dear children! I am with you even if you are not conscious of it. I want to protect you from everything that Satan offers you and through which he wants to destroy you. As I bore Jesus in my womb, so also, dear children, do I wish to bear you into holiness. God wants to save you and sends you messages through men, nature, and so many things which can only help you to understand that you must change the direction of your life. Therefore, little children, understand also the greatness of the gift which God is giving you through me, so that I may protect you with my mantle and lead you to the joy of life. Thank you for having responded to my call.
(Message of Our Lady of Medjugorje, March 25, 1990)
What Prophecy IS:
Prophecy is simply hearing the voice of God for someone else (just as personal prayer is hearing the voice of God for yourself). God’s love for you is immeasurable, and His good thoughts towards you are innumerable. “How precious to me are thy thoughts, O God! How vast is the sum of them!” (Psalm 139:17) The gift of prophecy in the Church is partnering with the love and desires of God for you, and sharing them to upbuild and encourage.
We prophesy in part (1 Cor 13:9), so it is your job to discern what we share, and if anything does not resonate or help you, you are free to toss it out. The voice of God is always good, encouraging, and upbuilding. “He who prophesies speaks to men for their upbuilding and encouragement and consolation.” (1 Cor 14:3)
What Prophecy is NOT:
Prophecy is not a “God-vending machine.” We cannot use God, or manipulate His voice. True prophecy waits on the voice of God to cooperate with His heart for a person. “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,” declares the Lord. “As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.” (Is 55:8-9)
Prophetic prayer:
Your prayer ministers will ask the Lord for His heart and His vision for you, and share what they receive. All prophecies are for the recipient to receive and discern.
Schedule A Prayer Session
We are prayer ministers carrying the heart of Jesus, not medical or mental health professionals. We believe in and rely on the power of the Holy Spirit to heal and transform hearts, so all grace received from our prayer sessions is dependent on His timing and divine purposes.
We will strive to keep the contents of your prayer session private, unless we discern severe risks against the safety of yourself, others, or minors. All disclosure would be to proper authorities for the protection and safety of everyone involved.
Shadow on the Water requests that anyone who is currently taking medication or under the guidance of a medical or mental health professional would consult their doctor to confirm any fruits of prayer (i.e. changing medical or mental health status), before altering any prescribed treatment.
Participants of Shadow on the water’s prayer ministry agree to take full responsibility for all fruits of the prayer and relinquish all liabilities.
I have read and agree to all of the statements listed above.
I acknowledge that this prayer session will be over zoom via the internet.
I acknowledge that this session is led by the Holy Spirit, and the depth and length of the session is dependent on the Holy Spirit’s guidance to the leaders.
